Dr. Gary S. Wegman DMD

Biography

Dr. Wegman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1983. He since has served on the faculties at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

In addition to running Wegman Dental Group, Dr. Wegman has been tending to a 10,000 plant and 35 acre Vineyard in Limekiln, Exeter Township since 2001. Dr. Wegman loves the outdoors, and the health he achieves by working at his farm with his family, when he is not caring for patients at Wegman Dental Group. Many of the Dental Office staff have assisted Dr. Wegman in helping to harvest fruit, and/or train vines at various times throughout the season. This teamwork speaks volumes about the excellent staff that has built Wegman Dental Group as a leader in quality-oriented dental healthcare in Berks County, Pa. since 1983.

Dr. Wegman and his father began their farming endeavor in 1967, while Dr. Wegman was attending public school at Exeter Township School District. Upon graduation, Dr. Wegman ventured to Easton, Pa. where he earned a Bacholer's Degree in Biology from Lafayette College. The liberal arts education at Lafayette was an excellent preparation for the rigors of learning the Dental Healthcare profession at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. Graduating with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) from Penn in 1983, Dr. Wegman returned to his home in the Reading area, and began his private practice of Dental Medicine by opening a practice Dental Office in St. Lawrence. Immediately, Dr. Wegman committed himself to continuing his education, by volunteering to instruct two days a week at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, while growing his family of patients at his private practice. Subsequently, Dr. Wegman left Penn, and joined the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where his wife, Dr. Anne Dufour, was studying in the advance Periodontal and Dental Implant program. In 1993, Dr. Wegman accepted a position teaching in the International Student Program within the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Harvard School of Dentistry in Boston. Traveling one day a week, Dr. Wegman honed his skills as an instructor, and kept his mind at the forefront of what was happening with the Art of Dental Medicine. An endeavor, that allowed him to bring state of the art care to you and all of your dental needs.
